Consultation Launched on Local Tax Reform, CSPP to Respond

Edinburgh, 25th May 2015 (CSPP) - The Commission on Local Tax Reform has issued a call for submissions from interested individuals, groups and organisations as part of a consultation into how local government should be funded in the future.

The Centre for Scottish Public Policy (CSPP) is preparing a draft submission to the Commission for the week beginning Monday 8 June. We wish to invite our members to read and comment on this draft in order that their views are incorporated into the CSPP’s formal written submission to the Commission.

Earlier this year the Commission on Local Tax Reform was set up by the Scottish Government and COSLA to establish a cross-party commission to examine new ways in which to fund local government in Scotland.

The Commission has since launched an online survey and issued a call for written evidence from interested parties. The closing date for written submissions is Monday 22 June 2015.
