2015 SURF Award Winners Announced

SURF (11/12/2015) - Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice & Communities Alex Neil revealed the winners of the 2015 SURF Awards for Best Practice in Community Regeneration at a celebratory presentation event in Glasgow yesterday evening.

After assessing 54 SURF Awards applications and visiting 16 shortlisted projects, the independent judging panel selected six category winners: 

  • Scotland's Most Improved Large Town: Kilmarnock
  • Scotland's Most Improved Small/Medium Town: Barrhead
  • Large Scale Infrastructure: Ullapool Harbour Enhancement
  • Employability: Wheatley Pledge
  • Creative Regeneration: Laurieston's 'Open Spaces'
  • Community Led Regeneration: Helmsdale Affordable Housing Initiative

SURF Chair Pippa Coutts congratulated all the winners for their success in aligning place-based improvements with meaningful social & economic impacts
